How to Care for Your Eyebrows After Microblading
Microblading is a great way to achieve defined, well-groomed eyebrows that last. But for your new brows to stay beautiful for up to 1–1.5 years — not just a few weeks — proper aftercare is essential. After the procedure, your skin enters a healing phase, and it’s crucial to protect the freshly implanted pigment. Here's what you need to know.
The First 7–10 Days Are Critical
Right after microblading, the skin around your brows may appear slightly red, sensitive, or even a bit swollen. That’s completely normal — microblading involves creating tiny cuts in the skin to insert pigment.
In the first 24 hours, do not get your brows wet, touch them with your hands, or apply any cosmetics. On the second day, your technician may recommend a healing ointment — apply it in a thin layer and don’t overdo it.
For the first week:
- Avoid washing your brow area with soap or facial cleansers/
- Stay away from saunas, steam rooms, tanning beds, and pools/
- Refrain from intense workouts to prevent sweating.
- Do not pick at any scabs — let them fall off naturally.
- Stay out of direct sunlight
Healing and Color Stabilization
Peeling usually begins around days 3–5. At first, the color may appear too dark, and then it may seem too light. Don’t worry — this is part of the process. The final shade will only be visible 4–6 weeks after the procedure, once your skin is fully healed.
It’s also important to understand that microblading results require two sessions. A follow-up appointment is necessary 4–6 weeks after the first to reinforce the pigment, adjust the shape or color, and ensure long-lasting results.
Proper aftercare following microblading is the key to long-lasting, beautiful, defined, and natural-looking brows. Follow my recommendations, be patient with the healing process, and don’t skip your touch-up appointment. This way, your brows will look great every day — effortlessly and without the need for makeup.
